Build an Image Playlist in BeatSlide: Order, Memory and Reuse
Quick answer
A BeatSlide image playlist is the ordered image list in the current session. Drag to reorder, remove unwanted images and append more; the app does not save playlists between sessions.
Start with a small permitted collection
Choose images you own, are authorized to use or can use under the relevant license. Publicly visible material is not automatically reusable. With Creative Commons images, check the specific terms and attribution requirements; see the CC reuse guide.
Use a small group initially so you can inspect quality and ordering. There is no ideal image count tied to a session duration. Add more only if you want more variety and your device handles them well.
Order in the image manager
Images appear with numbers and thumbnails. Drag entries into the desired sequence and use the trash control to remove an item. Adding a new file or URL appends rather than clearing existing images.
The active slideshow loops through the ordered list. It does not automatically randomize or match specific images to specific BPM values. Selecting random BPM changes tempo, not the image order.
Calculate a loop
| Image list and timing | Approximate complete loop |
|---|---|
| 10 images, 3-second fixed timer | 30 seconds |
| 20 images, 5-second fixed timer | 100 seconds |
| 10 images, beat sync at 60 BPM | 10 seconds |
| 10 images, beat sync at 120 BPM | 5 seconds |
These are steady-state calculations, excluding holds, pauses and browser delays. With random beat sync the loop duration changes with tempo. A fixed timer is more predictable if image pacing matters.
File size affects memory
The local path reads selected images into memory as data URLs. Large files and many high-resolution images can consume substantial memory, particularly on phones. It is inaccurate to say file size does not matter or that 4K is always ideal.
Use enough resolution for your screen, but prefer a manageable collection over unnecessary size. Local files and page-extracted images are filtered to at least 200×200 pixels; direct-image URL loading currently uses a separate unfiltered path.
Remote images are not saved copies
Page imports validate up to 80 candidates and add up to 50 per extraction. Their URLs remain dependent on the host. If a link expires or hotlinking is blocked, the item can stop displaying later. Permitted local files are more predictable for repeat use.
Reuse across sessions
There is no saved playlist library, named collection or export/import of ordering. Closing or reloading loses the app’s in-memory list. Keep source files and any permitted attribution notes yourself, and reload and reorder next time.
Closing the list does not remove source files, browser history or cached images. For sensitive material, understand those distinctions before treating temporary session state as a privacy guarantee.
